Today I said goodbye to my longtime feline companion, BlackJack, who slipped quietly into his next adventure. Needless to say, I will miss his energy, loving nature and friendly personality. As everyone who met him knew, BlackJack was a character who, at a muscular eighteen pounds, looked and moved as gracefully as a panther, acted and cuddled like a dog, but at the end of the day, he was a cat and he owned me. Especially my heart.
He was a very cool dude. So sorry for your loss. As we both talked about; losing our animal companions is often harder than our losing most of our human friends and family.

Bless your heart, as the old saying goes, which recognizes that part of us which both tenderly gives and is greatly comforted by the taking of the love and the simple attention proffered by our pets, who live unfettered by the rules and customs of our human interactions.
May your memories be the comfort of the newly silent times.
Love, Sabra
